Mold and Mildew Air System Remediation
Click to Enlarge Pictures Water Damage, Leaks, and High humidity in a home or building can cause mold to grow and flourish. Water damage may come from over flowing tubs, wash machines, refrigerators, air conditioning units pans over flowing, water rising outside from high tides, over flowing rivers and over abundance of rain. Leaks from water appliances, roof, water pipes, widow sill, fireplaces, flashing, and doorways. High Humidity can cause severe problems in homes and buildings. Excess humidity is often associated with condensation such as warm humid air coming in contact with cold surfaces. Excessive humidity can be due to oversized cooling systems, inefficient air systems, air leakage in the home allowing humidity to gain entrance into the home, surrounded by damp ground, damp crawl spaces, heavily wooded areas, bodies of water around or near the home. In extreme cases, excess humidity (due to water damage, leaks and high humidity) can lead to building damage and require costly repairs. Excessive humidity and water damage/leaks can be detrimental to one's health, given than mildew, bacteria, and fungi proliferate in humid and wet environments. While humidity problems are most acute in recently built airtight homes and buildings. Older homes and buildings that have been remodeled to improve energy efficiency with new insulation, windows, doors, etc are also experiencing the same humidity, mold and mildew problems. In conjunction with our Air Conveyance Decontamination Service, Atlantic Environmental uses the NADCA ACR
(Assessments, Cleaning, and Restoration) standards specifically designed for the restoration of air systems to a hygienic state. This specialized service may include removing the blower motor and fan assemblies, removing the coils, replacing the interior of the air handler insulation, replacing ductwork and/or plenums, spraying a fungicidal sealer registered by the EPA in mold remediation of air systems, etc. We work along with numerous mold restoration companies and work closely with industrial hygienists and IAQ testing companies. The mold process is to assure that all contaminated material in the system has either been removed or the mold eliminated, depending on the seriousness of the contamination. Additionally, we offer add-on products to assure that the mold and/or other contaminates are controlled within a home or building by controlling humidity, improving filtration and sanitizing the air therefore improving air quality.
