In the summertime, your cooling bills could be outrageously high since the high cost of energy has devastated you utility budget even while you attempt to beat back the temperature by adjusting your thermostat. A solar air conditioning unit offers a few benefits in the standard cooling systems. Howvere, before you purchase your new air-conditioning system, it is important that you take the time to do some research concerning the positives and negatives of any solar system.

Understanding The Sun-Powered System

There are many sorts of sun-powered technologies currently operating in homes and offices around the world. While many vary somewhat, the final result is the similar; they convert the high temperature on the sun and switch it into a device that will produce the desired cooler air.

The systems that exist can differ in size and output; at a modest-sized window unit with a larger option that may effectively, and efficiently, cool off a sizeable office. Whenever you pick the unit to your cooling needs, it is crucial that you decide on out the one that won’t be underpowered is bigger area it’ll be used in. Concurrently, an overpowered unit is usually a waste of capital in addition to energy.

A couple of Incentive Programs

The price of installing almost any new boiler system or cooling package may take a major dent in anyone’s budget. However, in terms of solar-powered and other green renewable causes of energy, you will discover very often there may be some incentive programs that can help to cancel out the expense of installation.

You need to check both Federal and State programs which can help use a slight tax break for many who spend money on energy-efficient technologies for home. They may greatly, depending on where you reside and what your plans entail however; ensure that you do extensive research into each available option prior to a purchasing decision.

Pros, Cons, And Making A Choice

Just like any big purchase, it is shrewd to quickly review a listing of pros and cons to enable you to certainly be a well-informed consumer.

The good qualities

As with several forms of electrical power, the most important benefit inside pros-column is going to be the incredible energy savings that may be seen. Individuals are capable to save hundreds of dollars, yearly, merely by converting to your sun-powered system

With the trend towards being enviromentally friendly, solar Air conditioning units are a great option since they’re an infinitely more environmentally-friendly method of chilling the air in your house. This may be a great feature if you ever sell your home inside the immediate future.

While traditional home air-conditioning units are certainly not overly tough to use, the user-friendly interface made available from solar units generally is a big benefit.

The wide ranging Drawbacks

There’s a somewhat high initial setup cost for solar ac unit systems; while energy incentive programs will help offset a few of the costs, homeowners are still taking a look at lots of money with your own money initially.

Like a system that may be dependent upon the sun because of its way to obtain energy, you could find that some days are less than cooperative regarding producing energy for your household. This ends in the necessity for energy storage systems to be able to have uninterrupted power at night and so on days the place that the temperature is below ideal

Panels have come a long way by means of design; however, they could still lean towards being fragile and readily broken. Broken solar panels can be costly to exchange and irritating if you have an interruption in energy to your property.

Overall, the incredible savings seen on your own long-term utility bills is not disputed. Inside of a few very shorts years, a lot of these green systems will cover themselves, while also causing you to feel better about cutting your overall energy footprint.

Become an informed and educated consumer. Do extensive research into the form of products you are searching for to install and also be certain that your installers are licensed, insured, and have the necessary experience to properly install your new solar system.

Air pollution is the contamination of the air by substances that are harmful in many ways to people. The air pollution can cause many health problems including respiratory issues. This can include many problems such as breathing problems, itchy or irritated throats, it can cause burning of the eyes and/or nose or even in severe cases death can be caused by it.

Air pollution can take about one to two years off of a human’s life. We tend to breathe a few gallons of air every minute, during our day. Air pollution does affect kids more than adults because of the size of their bodies. Kids tend to breathe more of the air and they also spend more time playing outside.

More pollutants are being put into the air each year than are discharged into the ground water, surface water and also land combined. Motor vehicles are the main cause of pollution than any other single human activity to date.

Elderly people and people in general tend to spend 80% to 90% of their lives indoors and at home. Elderly people are often classified as being susceptible to problems due to air pollution. It causes impaired functions of their lungs. There is also a marked increase in respiratory problems due to air pollution. Air pollution has been linked with Pneumonia in the elderly. They found that a high level of pollutants from car exhaust fumes and industrial air pollutions was the cause of this. This is a lot of the cause of their problems with air pollution.

Young Children have developing organs, which air pollution affects greatly. They are affected by air pollution due to their bodies still in development, which makes them more prone to the affects of air pollution both indoors and outdoors. They suffer more of the bad affects of the harmful contaminants contained in air pollution.

Indoor air quality needs to be looked at in order to make solutions to this problem for the elderly and the young. It actually benefits all to have good indoor air quality in our homes, offices or other buildings. Air duct cleaning is one way to go when looking for ways to improve the air quality. Dirty air ducts can or may be a reason a house may have a high level of air pollutants. Also, another great method of some prevention is air purifiers, which help to clean the air we live in.

Research within the past decade is increasing linking environmental air quality and also causality pertaining to persistent difficulty in breathing, standard conditions and even more critical long-term along with potentially fatal illnesses. The final outcome which can be fairly attained, is those badly afflicted with the possible lack of good indoor air quality they can be breathing. The effects attributable to very poor inside air may be much more graphic.

The majority of the impurities held in any house remain there and are generally reprocessed to generally be inhaled yet again. Often the specifications of aspects of the overall are comprised of most likely damaging contaminants, hazardous molds, smoke residue along with characteristics any time inhaled repetitively, that can cause severe overall health implications.

The simple fact involving several negative indoor air can be inescapable. Based on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of the United States:

“At this time there a variety of reasons for indoor pollution in a family home. Like for example , burning sources which includes oil, gas, kerosene, coal, wood, and cigarettes and tobacco products; construction materials and also home furnishings diverse as deteriorated, asbestos-containing insulation, wet or damp carpet, and cabinetry or furniture made of certain pressed wood products; products for household cleaning and maintenance, personal care, or hobbies; central heating and cooling systems and humidification devices; and outdoor sources such as radon, pesticides, and outdoor air pollution.”

Obviously there are several all too typical causes generating the damaging consequence of very poor household air quality. They all are mostly common but also oftentimes totally essential in practical modern lifestyle. The EPA recommends the use of air filtering system technology as you solution to acquire air that may otherwise stagnate, and alter the consistency by breaking up the pollutants. The result is better air that is far more diluted of unhealthy components. The air has better purity comparable to you will find outdoor generally in most places.

The most important benefit of Air Filtering along with Air Quality Systems as they are commonly known as, because they improve the immediate inhaling and exhaling experience to the user. Bothersome troubles like difficulty breathing, lung, throat, nose, and in some cases mouth distress are relieved. The basic causes of these changes are filtration along with dilution of bad air components.

The EPA tells you furthermore concerning the essential nature of taking further environmental betterment actions that will coincided with the use of an air purifier. Electronic home air cleaners are no match for pervasive toxic second-hand smoke as well as imperceptible cases including Radon

Studies support the basic summary which in the developed West, all of us spend more than 90% in our total hours indoors. We are undoubtedly a hostage to our own ability to be knowledgeable about our household environment and to appropriately control all of our environmental air quality.

We at Atlantic Environmental Service & Products recommend whole house HEPA filtered air filtration systems over the portable or ROOM air purifiers. The reasons for this are, 1. you want the filter the largest lungs of your home, which is your home air system, 2. whole house air filtration systems will in most cases operate more efficiently, meaning less electric usage, as compared to individual fan driven portable HEPA air purifiers in each room that the whole house system would handle, 3. whole house air filtration systems will cost less to maintain the filters of one unit versus multiple room fan driven portable HEPA air purifiers and 4. the initial purchase cost is much less to install a WHOLE house air purifier as compare to multiple purchases of room filtration systems to filter the whole home or office.

There are many air duct cleaners located in most every State and City and for sure there are quite a number of air duct cleaners in Jacksonville Florida. Atlantic Environmental has been doing air duct cleaning in Jacksonville FL, air duct cleaning in Atlantic Beach FL, air duct cleaning in Jacksonville Beach FL, air duct cleaning in Ponte Vedra FL, and commercial air duct cleaning throughout the State of Florida for over 16 years.

While I am sure that no one air duct company tries to purposely “NOT DO A GOOD JOB”, the vast majority do not. It is amazing the poor training and inadequate equipment I have personally seen that a number of Jacksonville air duct cleaners use in their trade.

We get those calls from a number of disgruntal people who were dissatisfied with the air duct cleaning that one of our competitors just completed on their home or office. They complain of dirt and dust all over the floors and the furniture, an unusual smell coming out of the duct work, and air vents that were never cleaned. In some cases, we found that who ever cleaned their duct work installed the grills incorrectly or did not open them so as the air could circulate throughout the room or home. We also found that many times, the air duct cleaner they hired did not even clean the air handler which is essential whenever you clean the air ducts. Even with a new air handler installed, dirty duct work can and will cause your NEW air handler to have dirt settling inside the air handler contaminating the NEW coils, blower fan, and air handler’s insulation… to add insult on to injury, the customer normally paid a higher price for the service than was advertised on the Internet, coupons or fliers. If you see an advertisement stating that the cost of duct cleaning your “WHOLE HOUSE” is only going to be $25.00 or $98.00, don’t let them in the front or back door… as this company is using that low number as a way of coming to your home with all the intentions of “Up-Selling” the uneducated consumer.

Atlantic Environmental has been providing the greater Jacksonville Air Duct Cleaning, Florida Commercial Air Duct Cleaning, and Indoor Air Quality Service for over 15 years. We are a licensed by the State of Florida as a Florida Air Conditioning Contractor.

Airborne contamination within the home can cause illness and poisoning of the bloodstream. Many homeowners shell out big bucks to have professional ventilation systems installed, designed to filter out these airborne contaminants. Before attempting costly ventilation installation, there are steps that can be taken to remove airborne contaminants from the home, without breaking the bank.

Duct Cleaning

Contaminants build up within the duct work of a home quickly. This is due to the circulation of air particles such as dust, insulation and gases. By cleaning a home’s ducts often, these contaminants can be eliminated, preventing further air contamination. This also removes outdoor germs that can be introduced during periods of high wind and rain. During regular cleaning, ducts should also be inspected for cracks or separation of seam work to ensure that increased contamination is not a risk factor.

Ventilating the Home

Homes that are shut up for long periods of time accumulate airborne contaminants easily. Homes should be properly ventilated in kitchens, bathrooms, basements and built-on garages. Vents allow for chemicals and air particles to circulate to the outside of the home, reducing presence within. By opening the windows on a warm, clear day, homeowners can also enjoy a reduction in airborne contaminants.

Housekeeping

Cleaning a home is required for much more than making it aesthetically pleasing. Contaminants from the air can also settle into furniture, woodwork and carpeting. For this reason, proper dusting and vacuuming are essential. Vacuums equipped with a hepa filter are ideal for clearing indoor air as they trap dust and other airborne contaminants. House cleaning supplies such as dusting sprays, window cleaners and tile cleaners should be odor free and made of natural ingredients when possible. The idea is to remove contaminants and prevent their return.

Materials

When furnishing a home, some homeowners find that cheaper is better on the wallet. The problem is that furniture made of particle board, medium-density fibreboard or hardwood plywood has been treated with a chemical known as formaldehyde. This chemical is highly toxic to the lungs and can remain in indoor air for extended amounts of time. When building or furnishing a home, it is important to ask how any materials were treated and if they contain chemicals such as formaldehyde. By eliminating materials within the home that have been chemically treated in this way, homeowners can clear the indoor air and provide a safer environment.

While indoor contaminants are difficult to completely get rid of, steps to decrease airborne dangers are the best chance for healthier living. It doesn’t take a rich person to provide this to everyone living under one roof. It just takes some education and drive to clear the air.

Some types of mold in the home can cause strong allergic reactions and even neurological damage in small children or elderly adults. Additionally mold can be very expensive to eliminate and can be detrimental to the value of your home.

If you’ve noticed mold growing on your Heating and Air vents (a common place to first spot mold growth), you need to call a qualified air conditioning contractor immediately. Just cleaning the mold or painting over the discoloration or the mold is not recommended. In some cases, disturbing the mold could aggravate the problem by spreading the mold spores to other parts of the home or business. It should be noted that mold on your Heating and Air vents does not mean that you are a poor housekeeper. It simply means that there are areas of excessive moisture or humidity that are creating ideal breeding grounds for mold spores. Those sources of water combined with dust and dirt within your ductwork can cause problems and need to be resolved as soon as possible.

The first step is determining why you have mold in your air system. If the moisture source isn’t addressed, the problem will be back again in a couple of months. The air conditioning contractor should inspect your air and heating system for a drain line backup, abnormal moisture content inside and outside of the air handler, look for plumbing leaks or poor drainage, and give your complete system a tune-up.

If the problem is NOT the heating and air conditioning system, the next step would be to hire a certified building inspection company to look through the home or office to further investigate and identify what may be causing the excessive moisture.

If the mold is severe and/or your family or office personnel are complaining of allergic reactions such as headaches, constant sneezing, running nose, watering eyes, and other allergic symptoms when they are in the home of office but, when they are elsewhere, their symptoms either improve or all together go away, you need to contact an industrial hygienist. This is the only proper way to determine the type and danger of the mold or allergen that is in the home or office and what corrective action is required to be taking immediately.

If the problem turns out to be just excessive humidity in the air above 60%, a dehumidifier is a must. Atlantic Environmental Service & Products can make the right recommendation for your home and situation.

Here are some more mold prevention tips from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:
• Keep the humidity level in your home between 40% and 60%. Use an air conditioner or a dehumidifier during those hot humid months.
• Be sure your home has enough ventilation. Use exhaust fans that vent outside your home in the kitchen and bathroom. It is recommended that bathroom exhaust run 15-20 minutes after showers or baths to expel humid air within the bathroom.
• Make sure your clothes dryer vents to outside your home.
• Fix any leaks in your home’s roof, walls, or plumbing so mold does not have moisture to grow.
• Clean up and dry out your home thoroughly and quickly (within 24–48 hours) after flooding.
• Add mold inhibitors to paints before painting.
• Clean bathrooms with mold-killing products.
• Remove or replace carpets and upholstery that have been soaked and cannot be dried promptly. Consider not using carpet in rooms or areas like bathrooms or basements that may have a lot of moisture.
